Dalip Singh Rana was born on August 27, 1972 in a poor family in Dhiraina village in Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh, one of seven brothers and sisters. Dalip Singh worked as a security guard in Shimla when he was young. During that time, he came to the attention of an officer from the Punjab Police who had close links with the sports development authorities and helped many officers become international athletes.
Dalip Singh joined the Punjab Police in 1993 after which he started training as an international wrestler. After several years of hard work and sacrifice, Dalip Singh was selected to attend a specialized wrestling training program in the United States, which was the beginning of his journey with World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). On April 6, 2006, he played the villain for the first time on a WWE TV show, defeating the legendary wrestler The Undertaker. During his time in WWE, he won many titles such as the World Heavyweight Championship, the 7-Man Royal Rumble Championship, and the Slammy Award.
